Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) skills assessment

    The Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML ANZ) is contracted by the Australian Government to assess senior-level management skills for skilled migration. It looks at a higher education degree and up to 10 years of employment history.

    Migration Skills Assessment (regular or express), renewal, re-assessment, review and appeal. IML also offers a qualification assessment for the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa.
    Qualification
    IML evaluates the higher education degree together with employment history. Its FAQ says formal qualifications are not mandatory for a successful assessment. Occupation-specific rules are in each occupation's assessment criteria document.
    Experience
    Employment history for up to 10 years is evaluated. Level and length rules are set out in the assessment criteria for each occupation.
    English
    IML does not require English language test results for the Migration Skills Assessment.

    Processing time
    Regular 10 weeks; express 6 weeks. Renewal, re-assessment and review 4 weeks; appeal 12 weeks. Incomplete applications take longer.
    Validity
    A positive outcome is valid for three years from the date of issue.

    What IML assesses
